Frequently Asked Questions

What is the duration of Mentor Training?

+

The training is designed for self-paced learning that you can schedule according to your convenience. However, we require that once you start the training, it should be completed within a period of maximum 4 months.

How many members are allowed in a mentor-assisted cell group?

+

The minimum number of members is 6 and maximum is 8. However, there could be exceptions, which the respective FBT and NFT shall decide.

Are cell groups gender specific?

+

Yes, cell groups are gender specific. There will be separate cell groups for male and female. The mentors assigned to a cell group will also be of the same gender.

How are cell groups formed?

+

Participants will identify members from among the eligible candidates (people who have enrolled for the Missionary Discipleship phase) of the same gender and request the NFT to create a formative cell group for them. The NFT will have to approve the request to start the cell group.

Technically, members can be selected from any part of their country. However, it is strongly recommended that members in a cell group be selected from one area for ease of gathering.

How are mentors assigned to cell groups?

+

The NFT will publish a list of mentors. Each cell can propose its mentor (one mentor can accompany only one cell group, so it will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis). Each cell group will have to give 2-3 preferences to the NFT. The NFT will decide on a mentor for the cell group from the proposed list, based on availability.

Who is a facilitator in a cell group?

+

The NFT will propose a facilitator for each cell group in consultation with the newly proposed cell group. The facilitator will be one of the members in the cell group, who will support the mentor in facilitating the gathering of cell groups.

What is the frequency of gathering in cell groups?

+

The cell members will come together virtually every week for one hour in the presence of the mentor, using any of the online meeting platforms that are convenient for all the members of the cell.
It would be ideal to fix a regular day and time for every week, so that the members can schedule their other activities accordingly.

Do the cell groups gather physically (offline)?

+

It is recommended that there be 2-2.5 hours of physical gathering with the mentor once every two months. If this is not practical, it is mandatory to have one physical gathering at least once every four months for around five hours with the mentor.
